Snow in March?!

Emma's all bundled up.

Hey everyone! It's March 28th and its snowing in Sammamish! We're near Seattle, WA for anyone who doesn't know... So usually all it does is rain this time of year. Posting a video of the weirdness. Also got a picture of Emma all bundled up. Yesterday was Justin's first baseball practice. He loved it. He has another one Saturday and then a playdate at Nathan's house. I'll take some pictures of him playing. The kids all like to wear their uniforms to practice, so it's pretty cute. All the kids are from his school, which is good. It'll give him the opportunity to make new friends. I felt so bad having him switch schools in the middle of the year. Enjoy the pics!

Justin's Basketball Game

Hey all! It's been a while since I wrote. I've been cheating and just posting pictures, scripture and stuff. I am posting some video of Justin's last basketball game, (he's #4 in green), and he insists I show his trophy. So here it is... Now it's time for baseball. He's on the Red Sox Little League team this year. He's very excited! The babies are well. I am working on getting them sleeping through the night again. We got off track when they were sick, but I got Emma to sleep all the way through the past two nights, but Alex we need to work on. He always wakes up around midnight, and then refuses to settle down until I lay down with him. So we'll see how it goes.Anyway, Emma's screaming because she's just realized I'm more than a foot away, so I'll go now.Have a great day!

He Is Risen Indeed!

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”Matthew 28:1-10, NIV

Here are some pictures from my Mom's house today. Happy Easter!

Good Friday

According to the New Testament, Jesus, having been arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane by the Temple Guards through the guidance of Judas Iscariot, is brought to the house of Annas, who is father-in-law of the current high priest, Caiaphas. Judas received money for betraying Jesus, and so that the guards knew who to arrest, Judas kissed Jesus, and the guards knew that whoever Judas kissed, that would be Jesus. There he is interrogated with little result, and sent bound to Caiaphas the high priest, where the Sanhedron had assembled (John 18:1-24).
Conflicting testimony against Jesus is brought forth by many witnesses, to which Jesus answers nothing. Finally the high priest adjures Jesus to respond under solemn oath, saying "I adjure you, by the Living God, to tell us, are you the Anointed One, the Son of God?" Jesus testifies in the affirmative, "You have said it, and in time you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Almighty, coming on the clouds of Heaven." The high priest condemns Jesus for
blasphemy, and the Sanhedron concurs with a sentence of death (Matthew 26:57-66). Peter also denies Jesus three times during the interrogations. Jesus already knew that Peter would deny him three times.
In the morning, the whole assembly brings Jesus to the Roman governor
Pontius Pilate, under charges of subverting the nation, opposing taxes to Caesar, and making himself a king (Luke 23:1-2). Pilate authorizes the Jewish leaders to judge Jesus according to their own Law and execute sentencing, however the Jewish leaders reply that they are not allowed by the Romans to carry out a sentence of death (John 18:31).
Pilate questions Jesus, and tells the assembly that there is no basis for sentencing. Upon learning that Jesus is from Galilee, Pilate refers the case to the ruler of
Galilee, King Herod, who was in Jerusalem for the Passover Feast. Herod questions Jesus but receives no answer; Herod sends Jesus back to Pilate. Pilate tells the assembly that neither he nor Herod have found guilt in Jesus; Pilate resolves to have Jesus whipped and released (Luke 23:3-16).
It was a custom during the feast of Passover for the Romans to release one prisoner as requested by the Jews. Pilate asks the crowd who they would like to be released. Under the guidance of the chief priests, the crowd asks for
Barabbas, who had been imprisoned for committing murder during an insurrection. Pilate asks what they would have him do with Jesus, and they demand, "Crucify him" (Mark 15:6-14). Pilate's wife had seen Jesus in a dream earlier that day; she forewarns Pilate to "have nothing to do with this righteous man" (Matthew 27:19).
Pilate has Jesus flogged, then brings him out to the crowd to release him. The chief priests inform Pilate of a new charge, demanding Jesus be sentenced to death "because he claimed to be God's son." This possibility filled Pilate with fear, and he brought Jesus back inside the palace and demanded to know from where he came (
John 19:1-9).
Coming before the crowd one last time, Pilate declares Jesus innocent, washing his own hands in water to show he has no part in this condemnation. Nevertheless, Pilate hands Jesus over to be crucified in order to forestall a riot (
Matthew 27:24-26). The sentence written is "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews." Jesus carries his cross to the site of execution (assisted by Simon of Cyrene), called the place of the Skull, or "Golgotha" in Hebrew and "Calvary" in Latin. There he is crucified along with two criminals (John 19:17-22).
Jesus agonizes on the cross for three hours, during which there is darkness over the whole land. With a loud cry, Jesus gives up his spirit. There is an earthquake, tombs break open, and the curtain in the Temple is torn from top to bottom. The
centurion on guard at the site of crucifixion declares, "Truly this was God's Son!" (Matthew 27:45-54)
Joseph of Arimathea, a member of the Sanhedrin and secret follower of Jesus, who had not consented to his condemnation, goes to Pilate to request the body of Jesus (Luke 23:50-52). Pilate asks confirmation from the centurion whether Jesus is dead (Mark 15:44). A soldier pierced the side of Jesus with a lance causing blood and water to flow out (John 19:34), and the centurian informs Pilate that Jesus is dead (Mark 15:45).
Joseph of Arimathea takes the body of Jesus, wraps it in a clean linen shroud, and places it in his own new tomb that had been carved in the rock (
Matthew 27:59-60) in a garden near the site of crucifixion. Another secret follower of Jesus and member of the Sanhedrin named Nicodemus (John 3:1) also came bringing 75 pounds of myrrh and aloes, and places them in the linen with the body of Jesus, according to Jewish burial customs (John 19:39-40). They rolled a large rock over the entrance of the tomb (Matthew 27:60). Then they returned home and rested, because at sunset began the Sabbath (Luke 23:54-56).
On the third day, Sunday, which is now known as
Easter Sunday, Jesus rose from the dead.

The Babies Go To The Doctor

The babies went to the doctor today. Emma is 26.5 inches tall, and weighs 17lbs 1oz. Alex is 26 1/8th inches, and weighs 18lbs 2oz. Alex is in the 95th percentile for his height/weight! Can't even tell they were born 4wks early. Justin has a field trip tomorrow. He's so excited because he gets to bring a Lunchable. Small pleasures. His final basketball game of the season is this Saturday at the Issaquah Community Center. He's excited for that too. Then he may go to Nathan's house. It's good to keep him busy. I sometimes feel like I'm neglecting him because the babies take up so much of my time. I really am going to have to start asking for more help. I'm getting kinda' burnt out. Don't get me wrong, I love it... just a little tired. The babies haven't slept through the night in three days.Hope you enjoy the pics, and the video. Talk to ya' on Friday!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Yesterday we celebrated my Nona's birthday. She loved seeing the babies, and we had a great time. We also checked a new church right down the street from us, it seems nice. We met some nice people. It'll be nice to have a "home" church again. Getting excited for Easter... this is the most important time of year for Christians. This week is to remind us of Jesus' death and Resurrection! I won a consolation prize for one of my photos I entered in an online competition. It's the pic of the babies I'm posting. I won two whole dollars ")! I'll let you know the next time I compete, so you all can vote for me. Still planning on doing a photography blog, but I just need to get a few more hours in my day. Ha. Soon I hope. Well, I'll write more later, my hand is going numb right now. Darn Carpel Tunnel.

Play Dates & Deer

What do play dates and deer have in common? They were both at my house today. We had Justin's buddy Nathan over today. They both LOVE Pokemon, so they had a good time playing with all of J's Pokemon stuff. Then this afternoon I saw four deer in our backyard. Right in the middleof the day. They weren't even scared . me as I took their pictures. Shawn had seen them a couple mornings before work, but that was at 5AM, so I didn't think I'd ever see them. The babies are cute, as usual, but Emma likes to scream whenever I'm more than a couple feet away. It gets to be a little much by afternoon. If I could afford it, I would hire a mother's helper to come once or twice a week, because it's hard doing it alone. Shawn helps a lot, but he works all day. OK, done with the "wah wah". I love my life, and I wouldn't trade it. I thank God everyday for all the blessings he's given me.

Hope not, he's got a play date here on Saturday. Love driving my new Quest. It is so nice. I am also looking into working from home. So many scams you have to look out for though. Gonna go now, will post lots of pics to make up for lack of word content today :).

I Got A New Mini!

Well, shortly after getting the car back, it started leaking oil so bad, that it barely worked. We went and traded it in. We got a 2000 Nissan Quest. It's really nice. We had a great experience at Eastlake Auto Sales in Issaquah. Now we have room to stretch our feet! Justin loves it. He has the whole third row to himself. He used to have to squish between the two babies huge car seats"). I love being mobile again. Just having the option to leave if I want to takes away the cabin fever. The babies are branching out into new food categories. They love sweet potatoes! Rice cereal... not so much. Emma spit up most of the cereal, but they both kept down the potatoes. The babies and I took Justin to school this AM. Then we went and visited Shawn at work, went by Safeway and came home but were locked out. Had to drive all the way back to Shawn's work and get his key. It was our "three hour tour". This PM,we went to the park. By the time we got there, the babies were napping, so we sat in the car while Justin and Shawn played for a little while. It messed up the babies sleeping schedule, so by bedtime tonight, they were both exhausted. And what do tired babies do?! Kick, scream, cry, laugh, throw their bodies around etc. I was happy when they both were finally asleep. Check out Babycenter.com for tips about sleeping.
